Television presenter Gloria Hunniford will be making a return visit to Dover for the horticultural show at Pencester Gardens.

Part of the Festival of Dover, the show is taking place on Saturday and Sunday, August 16 and 17.

Miss Hunniford was in Dover earlier this year for the inauguration of the cruise liner MSC Poesia and met the then Mayor, Cllr Bob Markham.

She offered to visit Dover if she was invited, and as a result agreed to open the horticultural show at 11am on August 16.

The show is open to local gardeners and allotment holders of all ages.

Entry forms are available from the town council offices, and a limited number of late entries will be accepted up until 10.30am on Friday August 15.

A pet show is also being held on Sunday, August 17. Entry forms are available from the town council offices and can be submitted on the day.
