Florence + The Machine
Florence + The Machine

with drivetime DJ Andy Walker

kmfm is bringing you not only the biggest songs but the biggest prizes too – some of which money can not buy.

For example, your chance to be a kmfm DJ for the morning. How would you like to join Rob Wills on the kmfm Breakfast Show soon? Come and see us at the Kent County Show at the Kent Showground in Detling this weekend, where we will be giving you the chance to be a DJ on site. Then we could be inviting you into the kmfm HQ to be part of the real thing. Good luck and I hope to see you at the Showground this weekend. We are there from Friday, July 13 to Sunday, July 15. You will not be able to miss us.

Just added to the kmfm playlist is the new single from Florence and the Machine, called Spectrum. Florence has one of the most amazing voices in current music. Distinctive and captivating, her new song with her Machines has been remixed by the brilliant Calvin Harris who produces superb anthemic rhythms. You will love it. Trust me.

Nicki Minaj is making hit after hit. She celebrated after one of her concerts the other week by ordering £3,000 of Nandos. That is 500 chicken legs, 300 wings and 60 bottles of coke. I assumes she was sharing. Nicki’s next single is Pound The Alarm. If you loved Starships – and thousands of you do – then you will be turning her new single up. It has that hands-in-the-air quality that her last single had, and was chosen by Nicki thanks to its popularity amongst fans who bought her album.

Rita Ora is a name you may not be too familiar with at the moment. Think the UK’s Rihanna. She is on rapper Jay-Z’s label in America after he spotted her singing on DJ Fresh’s No1 single Hot Right Now. She auditioned for Eurovision in 2009 but we will not hold that against her and she is supporting Coldplay on their stadium tours this year.

Her track How We Do (Party) is a great single. A catchy pop tune that will have you interested on the first listen and liking it by your second. The single made it just inside the top 10 in America, where she is making a name for herself too. Great work!

Little Mix are back too. The mould from any artist or band who win the show is to release a ballad, take time off, go to America, come back and make an album and then make sure your first real single is big. It is. Wings is infectious from the instant it is played. The girls say they were influenced by Beyonce and Michael Jackson with this single. You could even hear the Bootylicious singer singing this herself. It is a head nodding, sing-a-long pop tune – perfect for the summer.
