Police are investigating after a light railway train was derailed by a chair today.

A locomotive of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway went off the line at Palmarsh at 2.45pm.

Police say it is believed a chair on the track caused the incident.

South Kent Police spokesman Rosy Alexander said: "None of the carriages containing passengers were derailed and there are no reported injuries at this time."
