Traffic hits M25

TRAFFIC was at a standstill this morning after a traffic incident on the M25, between junctions six and five.

A van hit the central reservation in bad weather and caused 12 mile queues that stretched back to Swanley.

The incident, which occurred on the anti-clockwise section between junction six for Godstone and junction five for Sevenoaks, affected lanes on both sides of the motorway after the central reservation was severely damaged.

Another incident at the M20 junction with the A20, where a lorry and a car were involved, also added to commuters delays.

The incident comes only three days after a major incident involving a jack-knifed lorry, caused 60-mile queues on the same motorway.
