MARGATE'S famous daughter, modern artist Tracey Emin, had been hoping to hold a booksigning at a store in Thanet, but it fell through.

However, thanks to the efforts of Jane Bishop, of the Walpole Bay Hotel, Cliftonville, and the Kent Messenger Group's Thanet Extra, she will be signing copies of her autobiographical novel, Strangelands, on Thursday (December 8).

The signing will be from 5pm until 8pm at the hotel in Fifth Avenue. Copies of the book, which is a mixture of fact, fiction, and dreams, will be on sale at £14.99 or people can bring their own.

The books will on sale in reception area of the hotel.
