MARGATE toymaker Hornby Hobbies has been shortlisted for an award at the annual PLC Awards in London.

Last year Hornby was named company of the year and this time it is nominated for the ‘best investor communications’ honour at the event sponsored by PriceWaterhouseCoopers, The Financial Times, and the London Stock Exchange.

Organisers say that since its launch 17 years ago, the awards dinner has developed into ‘the City event of the year’ and is attended by 1,500 guests, including quoted companies, investment banks, fund managers, investment analysts, and other corporate advisors.

This year the dinner is on Thursday, March 11, at London's Le Meridien Grosvenor House Hotel.
