Police have released footage of two robbery suspects caught on CCTV after two girls were mugged in Maidstone.

Officers want to speak to them following the late night incident in Tovil, Maidstone.

The incident happened in June on Hayle Road at around 9.30pm.

In August the victims spoke out to try and bring forward more information about their attackers.

One of them, aged 17, said: "One of the offenders demanded my phone and when I told them I didn’t have one, two of them started to punch me in the side.

"The incident really shook both of us up and I have been playing it over in my mind ever since."

This CCTV footage was captured at a nearby newsagent.

PC Richard McIlroy, of Maidstone Police, said: "These girls were very brave in speaking out against their attackers.

"We are taking the unusual step of releasing these CCTV images as we wish to speak with these two females.

"I would ask people to study the images and contact us should they recognise them.

"Alternatively, those pictured may wish to come forward and rule themselves out of our enquiries."

Anyone with information should contact police in Maidstone on 01622 604 210 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
