All the excitement of an authentic medieval jousting tournament came to Leeds Castle - and Kent Online was there to capture it all on film.

The event took place at the weekend against the breathtaking backdrop of the moated castle, near Maidstone.

A purpose-built jousting arena, complete with flags, royal box and medieval tents, set the scene for the action, which featured knights on horseback and men at arms.

The company behind the event, the Knights of Royal England, use the same breed of horses - Andalusians and Lusitanos - that were used in medieval times, and the riding and training of the animals has changed little over the last 800 years.
