Three people have been taken to hospital after a smash on the A2 near Bishopsbourne this morning.

The two-car crash sent oil spilling over the road between The Street and Rose Lane at 8am.

The woman driver of a Skoda suffered a broken finger and chest pains and was treated by a passing doctor.

A man driving the other car - a Mercedes - ended up in a ditch and was taken to the William Harvey hospital in Ashford on a spinal board.

A further unknown casualty was also treated by paramedics.

The road was partially blocked but remained open.
