Three men jailed for part in Medway burglary

Three men have been jailed for their part in a burglary in Medway.

Luke Anthony May, 18, of Granville Road, Gillingham will spend two years behind bars.

Ricky James Worsfold, 20, of Luton Road, Chatham was jailed for 15 months. Patrick Downey, 21, of Jenkins Dale, Chatham was jailed for two years and 11 months. All were sentenced on April 8 at Maidstone Crown Court.

The three men pleaded guilty to burglary following an offence at a student premises on Doust Way, Rochester on January 16.

Computer and photographic equipment worth more than £1000 was taken after the offenders forced open a rear window to gain access.

The three men were known to Kent Police in Medway, and all had previous convictions for theft and burglary offences.

Det Cons Tom Daveney said: "Kent Police are satisfied with the outcome of this case after some good work by officers to identify the offenders and bring about this prosecution.

"We have been able to take three persistent offenders off of the streets of Medway."

"We are dedicated to reducing the number of burglaries even further and sentences such as this should act as a deterrent to those who want to commit acts of crime in Medway.

"This outcome highlights the fact that we take burglaries very seriously and will take positive action on all occasions.’
