Cannabis worth £80,000 has been seized at a property in Maidstone.

Around 20 kilos of the drug was discovered in Woollett Street by police yesterday morning.

Officers had stopped a van before uncovering the haul at about 10.45am.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs.

The men - two aged 43 and 22 from Cranbrook and a 38-year-old from Maidstone - were released on police bail until a date in June.

DS Andrew Nicoll, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: "Every drug seizure is significant, but to take such a large quantity of drugs off the streets is particularly pleasing.

"If anyone suspects drug-taking or dealing to be taking place, I would urge them to contact us so we can take action."
