Thieves in £112,000 copper lorry raid

COPPER worth an estimated £112,000 has been stolen after a lorry and trailer were taken.

The 27 tonnes of coiled copper bar were in the flatbed trailer of a white Renault Magnum lorry that was stolen from the Klondyke Industrial Estate at Queenborough.

Police say they believe the thieves cut through a padlock on the workshop door where the trailer was parked.

A red Peugeot with a false number plate was seen on CCTV leaving the estate around the time of the theft - between 3pm on Saturday, September 1 and 8.20am on Sunday, September 2.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police in 01795 419342 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
