The heroes return - see our video of The Fleet's victory parade

It was a long road to Wembley, but nothing could beat the journey home.

Ebbsfleet United were carried through Northfleet and Gravesend in an open top bus on Thursday evening to celebrate their recent FA Trophy triumph with their legion of fans.

Hundreds of supporters lined the streets from the team's home ground at Stonebridge Road all the way up to Gravesham Civic Centre, where hundreds of fans of all ages gathered to cheer on the boys.

There the players and invited guests went up to the balcony, accompanied by a pounding drum beat from The Jugnu Bhangra dance group, and said a few words to the masses below - and showed off their impressive new piece of silverware.

Then it was back home to Stonefield, where celebrations are sure to continue for some time.
