Teenager hurt in park shooting

A 15-year-old boy was hit in the head by an airgun pellet as he walked through a park in a Kent town.

The victim was with a friend on Saturday in Margate's Dane Park when he felt an impact on the back of his head. He touched his head and found it was bleeding.

Both boys ran from the park. When he went home, the victim's father contacted police and then took him to the Queen Mother Hospital in the town where the pellet was removed.

Police say the boys cannot be more specific about the time of the shooting which was between 3pm and 7pm.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 01843 222178 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
