Talented Charles wins junior pianist title

A 12-YEAR-OLD Medway schoolboy has been named as Kent Junior Pianist of 2001. Charles Andrews, of King's Preparatory School in Rochester, won through at the Kent Junior Piano Festival at Ashford School.

He competed in five classes, winning four and coming second in the fifth. Charles is a holder of an academic King's Exhibition, awarded on his performance in the entrance exam.

He is also a music scholar and a chorister of Rochester Cathedral.
