Suzuki celebrating all-time sales high

UK SALES of Suzuki vehicles reached an all-time high in 2001. The figure of 31,947 represented a 19.4 per cent increase ahead of the total figure for Suzuki sales in the year, 2000.

By the year end the company had exceeded its full year sales targets by almost 2,000 units and increased its share of the new car market to 1.21 per cent, up by nine per cent over the previous year. The 2001 achievements build further on Suzuki's growth in 2000, with: n Total sales up by 5,200 on the record set in 2000.

* Total 4x4 sales (including commercial vehicles) up by 2,040 units.

* Total Suzuki share of the car market up by nine per cent to 1.21 per cent.

* Total passenger car sales up by 3,163 units.

* Total light commercial vehicle sales up by 9.8 per cent.

David Seward, Suzuki GB's sales and marketing director, said: "2001 was a buoyant year for the new car market and it is pleasing that Suzuki's sales grew at a significantly faster rate than the market as a whole and that the company has doubled its sales in the past four years."
