Surfing the net...from a hospital bed

PEOPLE spending time in hospital in Medway will soon be able to surf the net from their hospital beds.

A bedside communications system will soon be installed next to every bed in adult wards at Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham.

The work will start at the end of June and each system will feature a television and telephone.

The bedside addition will also feature Internet access and games. The project should be completed by the end of November.

The company contracted to carry out the work is Hospital Telephone Services, the company which specialises in hospital communications.
