Student robbed on seafront

A HUNGARIAN girl was robbed when a group of foreign students were attacked on the main sands at Broadstairs.

The teenagers were sitting at Viking Bay when three youths and a girl asked them for a cigarette. They were given one and then they ordered the visitors to put all their money and mobile telephones on a beach table.

When they refused, one of the assailants warned them that he was carrying a knife. He grabbed a bag belonging to the 18-year-old Hungarian and ran off. The bag contained a personal stereo, a camcorder and a mobile telephone, together worth about £200.

The main robber is aged about 18 and was wearing a black jumper and trousers. The incident happened on Friday at about 10.15pm.
