Storage sheds destroyed in blaze

STORAGE sheds used by an East Kent company which makes fire-resistant products have been destroyed by fire.

The wooden sheds, at Roman Road, Maydensole, near Dover, were used by Envirograph Ltd to store materials used for making fire-resistant doors and other products. It had been the company's main factory until it opened a new headquarters at Barfrestone.

Fire crews from Dover, Whitfield and St Margaret's were called to the scene just after 2.30am. Because of limited water supplies, a bowser had to be brought in from Ashford to transport water to the scene.

But the fire-fighters were unable to save the buildings. The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
