ROCK legends Status Quo have been confirmed as part of the line-up for this year's Rochester Castle Concerts.

For 2008 there will be four concerts, taking place from Wednesday, July 16 to Saturday, July 19.

Status Quo will be making a triumphant return to the castle gardens, following a sell-out apperance in 2005. The Quo will be playing on Friday, July 18.

Talented musician Jools Holland, who lives in Cooling, and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra will be making their sixth appearance on Thursday, July 17. Jools, a favourite at the Castle Concerts, will be bringing along special guests Gilson Lavis, Marc Almond, Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall.

Opening night will be time to dance at Soul Party. Headlining on Wednesday, July 16 will be The Edwin Starr Band featuring Angelo Starr. Also playing will be X-Factor star Brenda Edwards and The Soul Traders.

The last night - Saturday, July 19 - belongs, as always, to the Castle Proms and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. There will be fireworks and water fountains and a programme of old favourites, as well as some new classical numbers.
