Sevenoaks train station was evacuated after a fire on board a train.

Four fire engines were called to the blaze at 10.14pm on Friday along with police and ambulance service.

The fire was put out within 20 minutes and crews remained at the scene until midnight.

The train affected was the 8.56pm service from Kentish Town to Sevenoaks.

Buses were used to transport passengers while the station remained closed.

No one was injured in the fire but it is thought it was started deliberately and British Transport Police is investigating.

The station has re-opened and trains are running normally.
