Staff threatened in wine store robbery

POLICE are appealing for information about a robbery at Threshers Wine Merchants in Commercial Road, Paddock Wood.

The drama unfolded when a member of staff became aware of two men entering the shop but one turned and walked out.

The man still in the shop went to the counter and verbally threatened staff demanding that they give him money from the safe or he would hurt them.

No weapon was seen but the employee thought the man had one in his pocket. After he was given money the man ran off.

The robber is described as possibly of mixed race, aged between 18 and 24, 5ft 11ins tall, slim build and unshaven. He was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up over a white baseball cap and dark coloured jeans.

The robbery happend Saturday, October 14, shortly before 2pm. It is not known if the man who came into the shop at the same time and then went out is connected to the incident.
