A soldier was injured after falling out of a second-floor window at barracks in Chatham.

The Sapper, who has not been named was found on the ground of the Royal Engineers' base at around 4am on Tuesday.

Police and paramedics were called to Kitchener Barracks, in Khartoum Road and the injured soldier taken to a London hospital for treatment.

A Medway Police, spokesman, said: “We are aware of the incident and were called to the barracks at about 4am.

“I can tell you the man’s injuries are not life-threatening.”
