A primary school had to be evacuated after a computer began to emit smoke.

Pupils at Wainscott Primary School, in Wainscott Road, were led out into the playground by their teachers at about noon on Tuesday.

Firefighters were called to check out the computer.

A spokesman for Strood fire station said: “The staff did everything right by getting the children out.

“We were only there for a short time as there was no fire, the computer was removed.”
