Sledgehammer raid on Asda supermarket

Three men with sledgehammers smashed their way into the Asda superstore in Kings Hill on Saturday night.

Staff were threatened by the balaclava wearing robbers who broke through a firedoor to enter the supermaket at 9.30pm.

They grabbed a cash trolley and made off with an as yet undisclosed sum of money.

Police carried out a forensic examination of the store following the incident and are viewing CCTV footage from the area as part of their ongoing investigation.
