A six-year-old girl has thanked the ambulance technicians who came to her aid after she fell on her head from a garden trampoline.

Ronni Chase, of Sevenoaks, made a special trip to Maidstone ambulance station on to thank paramedic Kevin Chilvers and technician Simon Matthews.

Kevin and Simon were called to help Ronni after she fell from a trampoline at her home in May.

She was doing a somersault on the trampoline when she went through the opening in the safety netting and landed head first on the ground.

Her mum, Nicky Osborne said: "It was terrifying. I was in the garden talking to my mum, who lives next door, when Ronni went flying through the netting.

"I went running to her but my mum shouted to me not to move her and she called for an ambulance."

When Kevin and Simon arrived Ronni's head was being supported by her grandmother, Wendy.

Kevin said: "They did exactly the right thing by not moving her. Her injuries could have been considerably worse.

"Due to the fact that she was complaining of neck pain and had a head injury, we called for the assistance of the air ambulance."

While they waited for the air ambulance to arrived, Kevin and Simon reassured Ronni and her family.

Nicky said: "They were fantastic keeping the situation calm. Simon was singing Hannah Montana songs with Ronni until the air ambulance arrived."

Once the air ambulance arrived, the onboard doctor was able to treat the neck and head injuries on scene. This meant that Ronni did not need to go to hospital and was referred to her GP.
