A silver flagon has been stolen from a vestry during an overnight raid on a church in Aylesford.

Thieves forced the door of St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Aylesford before making off with the 300 year old flagon and cash from a church collection box.

Dating from 1711, the flagon is inscribed in Latin, and is about 11.5ins high with a diameter of 6.75ins.

Anyone with any information about the theft, which happened between Wednesday and Thursday of last week, is asked to contact police on 01732 379217 (if possible quoting reference 3319) or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
