The father of Josie Russell, the young girl who survived a hammer attack in Kent, is suing News International over fears his phone was hacked.

Shaun Russell's wife and his other daughter were killed while walking in a country lane in Chillenden in 1996.

Killer Michael Stone is serving three life sentences for the murders of Dr Lin Russell, 45, and her six-year-old daughter Megan in Chillenden, near Canterbury on July 9 1996.

He was convicted of the murders in 2001, when he was also found guilty of the attempted murder of Lin's elder daughter Josie, nine.
