A pervert who sexually abused a young girl is facing a jail sentence after being convicted of 11 offences.

Peter Wallace, 54, vehemently denied all the allegations.

Nina Ellin, prosecuting at Maidstone Crown Court, said the girl did not tell anybody about it at the time.

She later put as her status on Facebook: “I hate men.”

Wallace, of Brewer Street, Maidstone, denied five charges of indecent assault, three of sexual activity with a child, one of sexual assault, one of indecency with a child and one of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

He was convicted on all charges by a 10-2 majority.

Judge Philip Statman granted Wallace bail until sentence on June 20, but warned: “I am sure you appreciate these offences are very grave.

"The only issue for me on the next occasion is going to be how long the inevitable sentence is going to be.”

The judge praised the “extraordinary courage and dignity” of the victim. “It is a sad and tragic case,” he added.
