A full-scale emergency search has been called off after a vulnerable missing woman was found.

Kent Police issued an urgent appeal to members of the public who may have spotted the 20-year-old.

She was last seen in the north area of Deal at about 7.30pm yesterday.

The alarm was raised shortly before 11am today, but by lunchtime police confirmed she had been found.

Essex police helicopter was scrambled, Dover Coastguard alerted and Walmer's inshore 'd' class lifeboat launched.

Some 17 police officers were involved in the search and a team from Kent Lowland Search and Rescue, a volunteer organisation.
