Rush hour misery after two crashes

Motorists faced traffic chaos during this morning's rush hour after two separate crashes on a main road in the county.

The first took place on the Maidstone-bound carriageway of the A249 at Detling at around 6.20am.

The road was closed for about an hour and a half. Three people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The second crash was also on the A249 on the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway at Stockbury at about 7.10am. Five vehicles were involved.

Nobody was seriously injured but motorists faced severe delays.
