Rush-hour crashes close main road

THE busy A28 was closed in two places after two accidents this morning causing rush-hour chaos for motorists in the county.

In one incident shortly before 8am, a refrigerated van hit a brick wall in Canterbury Road, Godmersham, which is between Ashford and Canterbury, spilling debris onto the road.

The driver was not seriously hurt and no other vehicle was involved, but the road was closed in both directions while the van was removed.

Another accident closed the A28 between Sarre and Upstreet at about 7.30am.
