PC GUY MILLER: suffered multiple injuries

A KENT police officer who battled for his life after being struck down by his own patrol car is recovering, according to his colleagues.

PC Guy Miller was in intensive care at Maidstone Hospital for almost two months.

The 33-year-old officer, based at Kent Police traffic headquarters in Coldharbour, Aylesford, was moved into a general ward over the weekend. He is eating and breathing without assistance.

A spokeswoman for Kent Police said: “It was touch and go for a long time and it’s certainly good news.”

PC Miller, a married father-of-four, is recovering from multiple injuries.

Ricky Hales, 19, from Deptford, south-east London, has appeared at Maidstone Crown Court charged with attempted murder following an incident at the end of a chase along the M20 on Wednesday, December 10.

Hales is also charged with aggravated vehicle taking and causing grievous bodily harm to PC Miller.

Maxwell Lancaster, 18, from nearby Catford, has appeared at the same court accused of aggravated vehicle taking and two charges of robbery.

They are due to return to court on February 23 when pleas are expected to be entered.
