Rubbish blaze put out

FIREFIGHTERS spent an hour putting out a rubbish fire in Northumberland Heath on Monday night.

Crews from Erith fire station were called to the Somerfield supermarket in Bexley Road at around 10.30pm after reports that piles of cardboard and crates outside the store had caught fire.

No-one was hurt in the incident and there was no damage to the surrounding buildings.
