A 51-year-old man has been given an Asbo after being arrested 15 times this year for drunken-related offences in Maidstone town centre.

Robert King, of no fixed address, was given the order by Maidstone magistrates on Wednesday.

A police spokesman said his most recent arrest came on Tuesday for creating a disturbance at the Gateway Council offices whilst drunk.

The spokesman added: "The order means King will not be able to enter on-licenced premises within the town, use foul or abusive language or behaviour likely to cause distress to others, be drunk in the town centre or consume alcohol in a public place."

King was also fined £50 and ordered to pay court costs. The Asbo will run for two years.

The Asbo comes just a week after another nuisance drunk - 46-year-old Dale Cooper - was slapped with a similar order.
