The killer of Harry Potter actor Rob Knox has been jailed for life.

Karl Bishop will serve a minimum of 20 years, the Old Bailey heard.

Rob Knox, 18, from Maidstone Road, on the border of Swanley and Bexley, died after he was stabbed five times outside the Metro Bar in Sidcup in May last year.

Karl Bishop, who is 22 and from Sidcup, killed him and lashed out at five other youths in an act of revenge. He was convicted by a jury at the Old Bailey.

Mr Knox had just finished filming Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, which is due out this summer.

Bishop, who smirked in the dock as the sentence was passed, was also given three further concurrent life sentences for wounding Mr Knox's friends.

Speaking after the verdict, Mr Knox's dad Colin said: "We are enormously relieved that justice has been done, but there is nothing that can compensate for the shattering sense of loss we are all sharing."
