A 57-year-old man killed in a car crash on the A20 has been identified.

Abd-El-Menem Allam died after the crash at Mersham.

Coroner’s officer David Lewis told an inquest opening this week that Mr Allem died when the car he was driving crashed last Saturday (January 31).

Mr Allam, of Main Road, Sellindge, was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Ashford’s William Harvey Hospital where his wife, Susan, identified the body.

A post mortem examination confirmed that he had died from multiple injuries.

Mr Lewis said Mr Allam was born in Cairo, Egypt, and worked in security. The inquest at Ashford was adjourned for a full hearing at a later date.
