A young man has denied swinging a cat by its tail in a Kent

causing unneccessary suffering to the animal.

The 20-year-old pleaded not guilty at Canterbury Magistrates'
Court today.

Richards was released on unconditional bail. A trial date is yet
to be set.

The cat-swinging was recorded on CCTV outside the Camden Arms
pub in Ramsgrate on October 29 last year.

The terrified cat, called Mowgli, ran away and was not
injured.
