Restaurant robber escapes with £1,300

A MAN walked into a fast-food restaurant and demanded money from a woman member of staff working in a back office.

The robbery happened at Burger King in Chatham High Street. The 29-year-old manager, who was working alone in the office, realised there was someone standing behind her.

The man ordered her to hand over money from the safe and then ran off with £1,300.

A spokesman for Medway Police said: “The offender is about 5ft 8in or 5ft 9in tall and of slim build. He was wearing a dark fleece jacket and light blue denim jeans which were splattered with paint.He left the restaurant by the back door which leads onto Solomons Road.”
