A teenager whose body was found in the back garden of a house in Margate will be remembered at a memorial service today.

Dinah McNicol from Tillingham in Essex was 18 when she went missing in August 1991. She had been returning from a music festival in Hampshire and was last seen at Junction 8 of the M25.

Her remains were found on November 16 last year as part of a police investigation in Irvine Drive, during which officers also found the remains of a second missing teenager, Vicky Hamilton.

Speaking at the time, Dinah's father Ian McNicol said: "She had a buzz about her, very bubbly; she was fantastic – all my kids are. Dinah was very popular and had lots of friends.

"The worst thing is people asking how you feel. The pain never leaves you. It is still very hard that Dinah isn't here, especially when I see my five grandchildren growing up."

Relatives and friends will gather at a small church in Tillingham later to pay their own tributes to Dinah.
