RAY GRIFFITHS: Long battle against cancer

A COUNCILLOR who raised thousands of pounds during his life has continued his legacy into death. Ray Griffiths, who lived in the Brompton area of Gillingham, died in September after a long battle with cancer.

His dying wish was that mourners should donate money to his two chosen charities the Wisdom Hospice and Leukaemia Research.

On Tuesday (December 3), his widow Shirley will present a cheque for £500 to the Wisdom Hospice.

Later in the month, on December 16, Mrs Griffiths will be going to London to present £500 to professor Gulzar Mufti for Leukaemia Research at King's College Hospital.
