One issue which has massively grabbed the headlines in the county has been the issue of checking lorries at the Port of Dover - and the huge queues this could cause if the time it takes to check them increases even by a few minutes.

The government has revealed its plan to deal with the problem is Operation Brock - a new version of Operation Stack where lorries will queue on the coastbound carriageway of the M20, while a contraflow is set up on the London-bound side.

The Department for Transport is also making preparations to turn the M26 into a lorry park in the event of trouble at the ports.

Mr Stephen Barclay, who full title is Secretary of State for the Department of Exiting the EU, said: "Brexit is a huge issue for this country.

"We're approaching a key moment in this process, where MPs will soon get to vote on the Prime Minister's deal - a deal that delivers on the results of the referendum.

"I'm keen to answer questions from KentOnline's readers about what this means for them and for Kent."
