PT Cruisers on offer in competition

CHRYSLER and Jeep UK has announced its support for a national penalty shoot-out competition where the winners stand to walk away with a share in a prize fund of £1m.

The 2002 Shoot for a Million penalty challenge, in which tens of thousands of six-person teams will be competing, kicks off this summer shortly after World Cup fever has reached its peak.

Two Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.0 Classics are up for grabs as special prizes. One will go to the most successful penalty-taker in the final stages of the competition and the other to the goalkeeper who makes the most saves.

The competition, which culminates in a final in Birmingham in December, was launched with the help of soccer stars Dave Beasant and John Aldridge. The pair faced each other in 1988 for what became one of the most memorable spot-kicks when Beasant saved from Aldridge to decide the Wimbledon v Liverpool FA Cup final.

Simon Elliott, managing director of Chrysler and Jeep in the UK, said: “It is great that everyone can have fun with a competitive edge and even better, that they have the chance to win one of two fantastic PT Cruisers.”

Robin Hunter, managing director of Shoot for a Million, said: “Anyone can enter this fun competition.”
