A Porsche crashed into a telephone pole pulling it out of the ground last night.

One crew from Dartford fire station in Watling Street went to Shellbank Lane, Bean at 11.15pm to find the car damaged but no driver at the scene.

Police closed the road because the overhead cables were close to the ground.

It was closed for more than two hours while engineers from UK Power Networks isolated the power.

It is thought police made contact with the driver.
