Popular nightclub to reopen on Saturday

Franks Nightclub in Margate reopens by popular demand on Saturday - to the delight of clubbers from around Thanet.

Pub chain boss Frank Thorley said: “We had an abundance of letters and emails begging us to reopen as our old customers - and new ones - have nowhere to go clubbing at the moment.”

General manager Gareth Brett said the club is offering a promotion with a difference. He has struck a deal with the taxi firm Central Cars, where Franks will pay clubbers’ fares home. It means that customers arriving at the Cliftonville venue before midnight by taxi will receive drinks vouchers to the value of their fare. Gareth said it is “a great ‘win-win’ for local clubbers.”

He added: “We used to have the biggest Saturday night party in town and it is our intention to regain our number one spot.”

The venue, which has been given a make-over, is also opening its doors to private parties and functions from Sunday to Friday nights. Contact 01843 295905 for details.
