'Polite' thief grabs cash from till

A THIEF "apologised" to a store customer for leaning across a counter where she was being served before snatching £100 from the till.

He then ran out of the Woolworth’s in Northdown Road, Cliftonville, near Margate, and into nearby Edgar Road.

Police are checking CCTV surveillance tapes and appealing for anyone who saw the man in or around the store at 5.15pm on Monday to contact them on 01843 231055.

The offender is thought to be about aged about 25. He is around 5ft 8in tall and slim. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, a pale blue tee-shirt and blue jogging bottoms.
