POLICE are hunting two people after a head-on crash left a driver in hospital.

Officers sealed off parts of Wigmore Road, Wigmore, Gillingham, after the collision. People in a Ford Transit van ran away, leaving the driver of a red Suzuki trapped in his car.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, had to be rescued by firefighters. He had multiple injuries.

A spokesman for Medway fire station said: "Initially we were going to cut the roof of the car off and get the man out that way.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the passsenger or the van driver shortly after the accident.

A spokesman said: "We want anyone with information to come forward, particularly if they saw someone covered with blood in the Wigmore area."

The crash happend on Saturday morning. Anyone with information is asked to telephone Medway Police on 01634 884252.
