Police reel in fishing rod thieves

Police are trying to reel in thieves who stole a fishing tackle box and a motorbike.

Officers have appealed for information about the two thefts over the Easter weekend.

Both incidents happened at neighbouring properties in Houselands Road, Tonbridge. Kent police have linked them.

A police spokesman said: "In one of the incidents a fishing tackle box containing four reels, floats, line and hooks was taken from a rear garden between 3pm on Saturday April 3 and 10.50am on April 5.

"In the other incident a green BSA motorcycle was taken from a car port at the rear of a property in the same road between 7.30pm on Sunday and 9.45am on Monday.

"The motorcycle's petrol tank has a badge missing on its right-hand side."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 01732 379 217 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
