Police name victim of fatal gunshot incident

DETECTIVES have revealed the identity of a man who died in a Kent village as a result of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police officers went to the scene of the incident in Canterbury Road, Chilham, near Ashford, just before 1am on Sunday, November 18.

The man who died has been named as 41-year-old Matt James Clements, from the Ashford area. Police say they are continuing to investigate the circumstances of his death.

A 49-year-old Chilham man arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed until January, pending further enquiries.
