Police investigate theft of pensioner's purse

Detectives would like to question the man in this photograph in connection with the theft of a purse.

A 73-year-old woman had her purse stolen, outside an entrance to the Pentagon Shopping Centre, Chatham.

The woman, who is from Chatham but has not been named, was injured during the robbery, which happened in Solomon Road.

It happened on Tuesday, March 17, but details have only just been released by police.

A number of enquiries have been made by officers, but as yet no arrest has been made.

Det Insp Ann Lisseman said: “Free purse chains are available for any members of our community who want to protect themselves further from incidents such as this.

“Officers will be at the Pentagon Shopping Centre, on Thursday, April 30, between 9.45am and 1.30pm, to hand out free purse chains."
